The eventful conference was held on October 13-14— 2016 at Samara State Medical University.
Renowned scientists from Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Russia, and the USA took the podium. The program included 20 reports and 2 round tables. Thanks to the participation of the world's leading scientists, it was distinguished by its richness and a large amount of information from the very leading edge of theoretical and practical science. The issues of fundamental neuroscience and the theory of neurocomputer interfaces, mathematical analysis of biological signals, advanced practical achievements in the field of medical and social rehabilitation of CNS diseases, management of complex systems by "thought effort" and many others were touched upon.
The official reception at the Bristol-Zhiguli Hotel was memorable for the guests with an impromptu jam by a jazz trio conducted by Nikolai Machkasov and Slimane Bensmaya, a professor at the University of Chicago (keyboards). Interestingly, at the same moment, US President Barack Obama was at the University of Pittsburgh shaking a robotic hand , connected to the brain of a paralyzed person, who, for the first time in history, could not only control it with an effort of thought, but also perceive tactile sensations. Professor Bensmaya and his laboratory have made a major contribution to achieving this breakthrough result.The next day, a tour of the historical part of Samara was organized for the guests.
After that, they traditionally visited the Center for Breakthrough Research and the newly opened second stage of the SamSMU Technopark.The conference was attended by over 300 representatives:
